BroadSeis is the new CGGVeritas broadband marine solution, combining industry-leading equipment, unique variable depth streamer acquisition techniques and patented de-ghosting and imaging technology.

It is widely accepted that recording a full range of frequencies - low as well as high - allows higher resolution imaging. Both lower and higher frequencies producing a sharper wavelet are required for high-resolution imaging of important shallow features such as thin beds and small sedimentary traps.

• The diversity of the streamer ghost notch can be tuned for different water depths, target depths and desired output spectra giving a uniquely customizable solution that significantly reduces exploration risk.
• BroadSeis requires no new equipment where solid streamers are already deployed, resulting in minimized operational difficulties and no loss in productivity from having to tow additional streamers.

• BroadSeis tows streamers with a patented geometry that provides benefits of reduced sea-state noise and improved low-frequency acquisition associated with deep towing.
• BroadSeis builds on the advantages of the Sentinel solid streamer with its extremely low noise characteristics and precise low-frequency response.
• Solid streamers can be towed deeper than other streamers, meaning that BroadSeis provides better low frequencies.

• BroadSeis includes a patented new, fully 3D de-ghosting algorithm. This gives it unrivalled suitability for 2D, 3D and all wide-azimuth acquisition configurations.
• The BroadSeis streamer configuration generates streamer ghost notch diversity. This is used by our patented new de-ghosting and imaging techniques to produce an ideal broadband wavelet which can be optimized for a range of target depths and velocity profiles.

Although the BroadSeis technique includes our patented de-ghosting, the raw acquisition data will be provided, allowing our clients increased flexibility.
