Our Board of Directors is led by Mr. Robert Brunck. In addition, our strong, experienced leadership team is dedicated to setting the highest possible standards in all areas of our business, while delivering solid, sustainable results for the benefit of our clients, shareholders and employees.

Our Leadership



Jean-Georges MalcorJean-Georges Malcor
Chief Executive Officer

Jean-Georges Malcor is a graduate of Ecole Centrale de Paris. He also holds a Master of Sciences degree from Stanford University, and a Doctorat from Ecole des Mines.

He began his career at the Thales group as an acoustic engineer in the Underwater Activities division where he was particularly in charge of hydrophone and geophone design and towed streamer programs. He then moved to the Sydney-based Thomson Sintra Pacific Australia, becoming Managing Director of the company in 1990. Back in France, Jean-Georges became Director of Marketing and Communications (1991), then Director, Foreign Operations of Thomson Sintra Activités Sous-Marines (1993). In 1996, he was appointed Managing Director of Thomson Marconi Sonar Australia which was in addition to its military activities, the lead developing company for the solid geophysical streamer.

In 1999 he became the first Managing Director of the newly formed joint venture Australian Defense Industry. During this time he operated the Sydney based Wooloomooloo Shipyard (the largest dry dock in the southern hemisphere). In 2002, he became Senior Vice President, International Operations of Thales International. From 2004 to 2009, he was Senior Vice President in charge of the Naval Division, supervising all naval activities in Thales including ship design, building and maintenance. In January 2009, he became Senior Vice President, in charge of the Aerospace Division. In June 2009, he moved to the position of Senior Vice President, Continental Europe, Turkey, Russia, Asia, Africa, Middle East, and Latin America.

He joined CGGVeritas in January 2010 as President and became CEO on June 30, 2010.

Fernando AguilarFernando Aguilar
Executive Vice President, Geomarkets & Global Marketing

Prior to his role, Mr. Aguilar was President, Geophysical Services Americas, for CGGVeritas. He had previously been Executive Vice President for Canada Land Processing, Canada Land Library and Western Hemisphere Land Acquisition. Upon joining Veritas in 2004, Mr. Aguilar's leadership role encompassed responsibility for Canadian and Latin American operations, and business sectors.

Prior to joining Veritas, Fernando Aguilar held a variety of positions in diversified business entities of Schlumberger in various technology, business and oilfield sectors.

Gérard ChambovetGérard Chambovet
Executive Vice President, General Secretary

Mr. Chambovet was previously Senior Executive Vice President in charge of HR, Communication, Enterprise Risk Management and Audit for the group. He had previously been Senior Executive Vice President, Technology, Planning & Control and Communication for CGG since January 2004. Until that time, he had been Senior Executive Vice President of CGG's Geophysical Services since October 1998. Mr. Chambovet was Executive Vice President of CGG's worldwide Land Acquisition from March 1995 to October 1998 and was Manager of CGG's data processing centers from 1987 to 1995.

Stephane-Paul FrydmanStephane-Paul Frydman
Executive Vice President, Finance & Strategy

Prior to his current role, Mr Frydman was Chief Financial Officer of CGGVeritas since 2007. He had previously been Group Controller and Treasurer for CGG since September 2005 and had been Deputy CFO of the CGG Group since January 2004. Before that time, he had been CGG's Vice President in charge of corporate financial affairs reporting to the Chief Financial Officer since December 2002.

Prior to joining CGG, Mr. Frydman was an Investor Officer of Butler Capital Partners, a private equity firm, from April 2000 to November 2002, and Industrial Advisor to the French Minister of the Economy & Finances from June 1997 to March 2000.

Gilles GarczynskiGilles Garczynski
Executive Vice President, Human Resources

Gilles Garczynski is a graduate from IEP Paris (Institut d’Etudes Politiques). He also holds two Masters Degrees in Labor law and Civil law.

He began his career at Labinal in 1988, now within Safran Group, as Employee Relations and International mobility manager. In 1993, he became HR Director and Site manager for industrial/electronics activities of Bull Group. Five years later, he was appointed as Vice President, Human Resources for the Satellite activity of EADS Astrium, in charge of France and International Space Infrastructure/Equipment and Sub-Systems Divisions.

In 2004, he became Vice President, Human Resources for the Naval Division of Thales Group before joining CGGVeritas as Executive Vice President, Human Resources in 2010.

Thierry Le RouxThierry Le Roux
Executive Vice President, Technology

Mr. Le Roux was previously advisor to the CEO and in charge of the Group's Business Development and Technology. He had previously been Group President and COO since January 2007, and previously Group CFO for CGG since September 2005.

Before that time, he had been Senior Executive Vice President of CGG's Products segment since October 1998 and Sercel’s President since June 1995. He was CGG's Business Development Manager from 1992 to 1995 and in charge of the Far East operations from 1984 to 1992.

Lionel LhommetLionel Lhommet
Executive Vice President, Geomarkets & Global Marketing

Lionel Lhommet graduated from the Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité de Paris. In addition to a Master of Sciences degree in electronics and physics, he studied legal and finance at La Sorbonne University in Paris.

He began his career in 1985 at CGG as Party Chief in Land acquisition seismic crews in Africa. In 1988, he became Key Account Manager within 3Com, a Californian start-up specialized in computer networking. In 1996 he joined Petrosystems as Vice President Sales & Operations, a CGG subsidiary dedicated to G&G interpretation software development. In 1998 he was appointed Director on the board of Flagship L.L.C, a Houston based reservoir characterization software provider.

In 2001, he founded his own company, PROGNOST Systems, where he developed artificial intelligence systems for downstream industries.

Finally, in 2003, he re-joined CGG as Vice President Business Development and R&D for Land and Shallow Water seismic acquisition. Following the merger with Veritas, he became Executive Vice President in charge of the Land Acquisition Product line and then in 2009 became responsible for the management of all CGGVeritas services for EAME and APAC regions.

Stephan MidenetStephan Midenet
Executive Vice President, Land Division

Stephan Midenet is a graduate of Ecole des Mines de Nancy, France.

Stephan began his career at CGGVeritas as a field engineer in the Land Acquisition division (1998-2002) with various assignments worldwide. In 2003, he was assumed the role of Operation Supervisor for land seismic operations in Indonesia before becoming Managing Director of the subsidiary in charge of these activities. In 2005, he was named Vice President Sales & Marketing for the Eastern Hemisphere Land Division. This was followed in 2008 by a nomination to Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing for the Asia Pacific Region.

In 2009 he became Senior Vice President of the Land Acquisition division for EAME and APAC regions.

Colin MurdochColin Murdoch
Executive Vice President, Processing, Imaging & Reservoir Division

Colin Murdoch is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. He graduated with an Honors degree BA in Natural Sciences in 1977.

Colin began his career in the industry as a data processing Geophysicist with Seiscom Delta in Dublin, also spending some time as an Assistant Party Chief on a field crew in Indonesia.

He then joined Mckinley Smith, a geological/geophysical consultant based in Ireland, where he was engaged in the interpretation of seismic data and prospect generation. In 1983 he then joined Digicon Geophysical Corp., as a data processing manager in Caracas, and after 2 years he moved to Houston to run a dedicated processing center for UNOCAL.

In 1985, he then joined Entropic Geopyhsical, based in California, as Land Processing manager. In 1987 he returned to Digicon Geophysical where he held a number of positions in Data Processing including Manager for North and South America. In 1994 he became Vice President of Data Processing and Technology. Colin has held a variety of senior roles through the evolution of the organization in what is today CGGVeritas.

Benoît Ribadeau-DumasBenoît Ribadeau-Dumas
Executive Vice President, Marine Division

Benoît Ribadeau-Dumas is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and l’ENA (Ecole Nationale d’Administration) in France.

He began his career as a civil servant in the French Public Administration. He has held a variety of different roles, including 2 years (2002-2004) as a member of the French Prime Minister’s private staff, in charge of administrative reforms and decentralization.

In 2004, he joined the aerospace and defense group Thales as Corporate Development Director, in charge of group strategy, mergers & acquisitions and relationships with shareholders. He then was appointed as the head of 2 operational business lines, first as Managing Director of the Air Traffic Management Systems in 2007 and since 2009 as CEO of Thales Underwater Systems.

In September 2010, he will join CGGVeritas as Executive Vice President in charge of the Marine Division.

Dominique RobertDominique Robert
Executive Vice President, Global Operational Excellence

Dominique graduated from the Ecole Centrale de Paris in 1975 with a specialization in civil engineering.

After having worked 4 years in Algeria for the Ministry of Public Works (roads and airstrips), he joined CGG in 1979 as a party chief on a land seismic crew in Indonesia.

He has been assigned abroad in different countries during his career and held many different managerial positions in CGG, mainly in the APAC region from 1985 to 2000.

In 2000, he came back to France and worked as CEO of Flagship, a CGG software division. In 2001, he was appointed as Executive Vice President Land & Shallow Water Seismic Data Acquisition and in 2007, following the merger of CGG with Veritas, he became Executive Vice President EAME region.

Pascal RouillerPascal Rouiller
Executive Vice President, Equipment Division
CEO of Sercel

Mr. Rouiller is CEO of Sercel, the equipment division of CGGVeritas. He had previously been Executive Vice President for Equipment for CGG and CEO of Sercel since September 2005 after serving as Chief Operating Officer of the Sercel Group since December 1999.

Mr. Rouiller was Vice President of CGG's Product segment from October 1995 to December 1999 and Vice President for CGG's Asia-Pacific region from May 1992 to September 1995.

Luc SchlumbergerLuc Schlumberger
Executive Vice President, Multi-Client & New Ventures Division

Luc is a geologist by background and holds a Master’s degree in geophysics from Montpellier University, France. He has over 29 years experience in the E&P industry. He started with former CGG in 1981 as a processing geophysicist and has held various senior positions throughout the world within CGGVeritas.

Prior to his assignment as Executive Vice President for Latin America, he led the Data Library Multi-Client business line as well as the Processing and Imaging business unit in the western hemisphere.
