High-End Vessels Designed for Configuration Expansion
The continuing roll-out of the advanced Sercel Nautilus® streamer control system and Sentinel® solid streamers, combined with the introduction of BroadSeisTM, gives us an advanced, modern, efficient fleet, ready to take on today's acquisition challenges. In July 2010, the first of our X-BOW vessels, the Oceanic Vega, was delivered. This state-of-the-art vessel can tow up to 20 steerable streamers and has DNV-Clean notation and a green passport.
Modern Versatile Fleet In order to maintain our fleet versatility we are also modernizing, upgrading and replacing our smaller vessels. In Q1 2011 we will take delivery of the Pacific Finder, a purpose-built versatile vessel with from 1 to 4 Sentinel streamer capacity (24km). She will draft only 4.5 m and have a redundant and powerful propulsion (5,5 Mw), and so will be ideally suited for shallow-water surveys, as well as being an excellent platform for R&D.
Maintaining a mix of high-capacity 3D vessels and lower-capacity 3D/2D vessels in our upgraded fleet allows us to implement specific multi-vessel configurations for wide-azimuth acquisition, undershooting and other specialized acquisition techniques. Flexibility and Availability Regional markets characteristically require specific vessel configurations to suit the predominant activity in each region. With a large and versatile fleet, CGGVeritas is able to position vessels permanently in each region to provide maximum, year-round availability for our clients, and ensure that the vessels are configured to suit regional market requirements.
CGGVeritas has unrivalled experience in multi-vessel acquisition. Where obstructions are present, two vessels can be used to achieve greater repeatability of azimuth for 4D, or perform undershooting. Wide azimuth surveys may require the use of five or more vessels. CGGVeritas uses state-of-the-art navigation systems, designed specifically for multi-vessel acquisition, for real-time monitoring, positioning and synchronization of the source and streamer vessels, with sophisticated QC displays. Exclusively Equipped with Sercel Instrumentation, Dominantly Seal Sercel is the leading industry supplier of marine seismic systems and is the acknowledged industry leader in this technology. The CGGVeritas fleet is exclusively equipped with Sercel recording instrumentation, ensuring that the latest technology and the highest level of support are always available for the fleet. |

We have now completed our most recent fleet upgrade, further enhancing our position as the company of choice for high-end, innovative marine exploration. 15 of our 19 vessels now operate with between 8- and 16-streamer, long-offset configurations and have maximum capacities of 12 to 20 long-offset streamers.
A second X-Bow will be delivered in September 2011.
