Expertise in ImagingSafer

CGGVeritas is recognized as being at the forefront of advanced imaging technology, so you know your data are in safe hands. We have worldwide experience and regional expertise, combined with an unrivalled commitment to distributed R&D, all of which combines to reduce your exploration risk.

Clearer

CGGVeritas has developed algorithms which provide solutions for:

  • multi-pathing to produce clear and focussed images of (and below) complex structures
  • high propagation angles to image steep and overturned interfaces and sediments
  • anisotropy to cope with the variation in velocity relative to the direction of propagation. We were the first to introduce TTI algorithms for Kirchhoff, Beam and Controlled Beam Migration (CBM), and Reverse Time Migration (RTM). Our TTI RTM algorithm has been proven in production worldwide.
  • irregular and sparse sampling, as is often found in land and OBC (Ocean Bottom Cable) data
  • complicated topography, as found in onshore data, especially in foothills areas
  • true 3D modelling techniques, and azmuthal velocity analyses to properly process wide azimuth data.

Better

We have imaging algorithms and techniques to suit all types of data, from all around the world.

  • TTI Reverse Time Migration is the preferred algorithm for complex geological environments, such as sub-salt imaging in the Gulf of Mexico. This outstanding quality is now available pre-stack in the form of RTM Angle Gathers.
  • Our proprietary Controlled Beam Migration algorithm has proved successful in a wide variety of settings from complex structures and overburdens, to sparse land and fractured basement imaging. It improves signal-to-noise ratio and provides robust structural imaging.

Detailed information is available regarding selected imaging techniques:

For either time or depth imaging, onshore or offshore, CGGVeritas has the solution to your imaging problem.
